Warsaw Chopin Airport to City Centre - SKM Train, Bus 175, Taxi

Chopin Airport is 10 km from the centre of Warsaw and inside the city’s fare zone 1, which makes it one of the cheaper airport transfers in Europe: a 4.40 PLN ticket covers the train or bus. The options run from the platform under the terminal to the taxi rank outside it.

SKM train from under the terminal

Warszawa Lotnisko Chopina station is directly under Terminal A, signed from arrivals. Two SKM lines leave it: S2 towards Sulejówek Miłosna and S3 towards Legionowo. Both call at Warszawa Zachodnia (long-distance coaches and trains), Warszawa Śródmieście (the Palace of Culture and the metro), Warszawa Centralna’s neighbour for PKP Intercity trains, and Warszawa Wschodnia, the station for trains into Ukraine. The centre is about 20 minutes. Koleje Mazowieckie’s RL line also uses the platform, running the other way to Modlin.

Tickets are the city’s own: the 75-minute ticket (4.40 PLN) or a longer time ticket, bought from machines on the platform or in the terminal, or in the Warsaw transport app, and validated when you board. The 20-minute ticket at 3.40 PLN is enough only for a hop of a few stops.

Buses 175, 188 and the night bus N32

The bus stop is on the arrivals forecourt. Bus 175 runs through the centre to Pl. Piłsudskiego by the Old Town, calling at Dworzec Centralny on the way, about 30 minutes to the Centrum stop; it also passes the hotel streets, with stops at Komitetu Obrony Robotników and the Novotel. Bus 188 heads east to PKP Gocławek via Mokotów, 148 to Wiatraczna, and 331 runs to Metro Wilanowska on weekday peaks. After the last day services, the N32 night bus links the airport with Centrum through the night. The same 75-minute ticket applies.

Taxis, Uber, Bolt and iTaxi

Use the licensed rank on the arrivals level; tariffs must be displayed in the window and the airport quotes about 50 PLN to the centre. Uber has Tap to Ride kiosks in the baggage reclaim and arrivals halls for passengers without the app or roaming, and Bolt and iTaxi (737 737 737) pick up at the airport. Hotels on Komitetu Obrony Robotników and Żwirki i Wigury are 20 to 30 PLN away; the Golden Tulip Warsaw Airport on Aleja Krakowska is about ten minutes.

Coaches from the airport bus terminal

The coach terminal in front of the south pier on the arrivals level, next to the railway exit, has 21 stands with FlixBus, Ecolines and regional operators to Białystok, Lublin, Gdańsk and beyond, and several Ukrainian carriers; our onward to Ukraine guide covers those.

From the hotels

The walk-in hotels share the terminal’s station: the Courtyard by Marriott Warsaw Airport is three minutes from it and the Renaissance Warsaw Airport Hotel five. The Mercure Warsaw Airport has a tram stop 200 m away with a single ride to Warszawa Centralna, and the Sound Garden Hotel Airport and Novotel Warszawa Airport are on the 175 route at the Novotel stop.
